Holly, born April 5,
1997, was the only female in a litter of six, bred by
Dick and Mary Wilber of Lubbock, Texas.
Holly finished her
field championship on November 24, 2007. Along the way
she had time off for her one and only litter in 2001 and
cancer in 2004. She continued to compete from the east
coast to the west coast and all points in between.
She won the
Mid-Atlantic Weimaraner Derby stake, an American Field
trial, over a field of 23. Holly’s movement in the field
is legendary, and she has passed that on to her
competitive offspring. She is the dam of the 2003
National Futurity Winner and the 2006 National Amateur
Field Champion, who are also champions in their own
right. The six pups from her only litter have all placed
in field trials.
We have to thank Dick
and Mary Wilber for giving us this exceptional bitch,
Deb and Myron Meifert for their support and all Holly’s
friends who encouraged us along the way. And a special
thank you to Dick Wilber who handled Holly at 2006
Nationals when Tom injured himself and took her to 2nd
place in the Amateur Championships.
We never gave up on
her and we were still getting compliments on her
performance at the 2007 National Championships, a nice
accomplishment for a 10 year 8 month old bitch. And she
continues to amaze us and everyone who sees her run.
